Using SAMS’ 32 processor Unix cluster, SRSL can run hydrodynamic and wind-field models at very high resolution for regional applications. Recent applications include extreme tidal flows through the Sound of Islay and the Gulf of Corryvreckan; wind steering through mountainous coastal terrain and dispersion studies to predict environmental impact in semi-enclosed coastal systems.
